So I never watched American Idol, but the guy who won really sucks!!! This Taylor Hicks guy is mediocre to say the least. The only reason I know this is from that stupid commercial he's in. I really don't get how he won over everyone else. Surely there was someone with more talent on the show!! There is just nothing about his voice that says "wow, he sounds awesome, he should win!" He sounds like he shouldn't have gotten any further than a karaoke bar. I think Simon has lost his and that should be the last American Idol they ever do. Ok, that's all I have to say about that. I just wanted to rant about his suckyness.

In other exciting news.....Josh's dad is moving also and gave me a free tanning bed!! How cool is that?! It just needed to be cleaned up a lot, but the bulbs are brand new! It's kinda cool to have everyone move at the same time. We get all sorts of free stuff. First a boat and now a tanning bed! The contruction has begun for my parents new house. Last I heard on the progress, they were filling the basement.

I started a new job last week at the Comfort Suites. Paula (the new manager) has been too much of a bitch to deal with lately at Fairfield. It kind of sucks that I didn't get to use my 80 hours of vaction time, but oh well. Nothing I can do about it now. Paula is just a miserable person who makes everyone around her miserable. Everyone there is on their last straw with the place. In the 2 weeks that I have been gone, they've already had 3 employees quit!! Too bad, now they are really short handed. I guess I like this new job ok. I just don't like the schedule. That's why I stayed at Fairfield as long as I did even though I hated it. I really couldn't beat the 7-3 monday - friday schedule. But the main perk is that I am making more money here. Last weekend My sister and I took my mom to Florida for her birthday. The guys went on a fishing trip which was supposed to be Josh's bachlor party had we gotten married this year. We went down to Destin for the weekend. It was fun. It was Olivia's first time at the beach. I don't think she was a huge fan of it, but she was a good trooper. Next year she'll love it I'm sure.

Not to be a complete nerd or anything, but I just watched that new Harry Potter movie the Goblet of Fire, and it was awesome! They just keep getting better! Josh and I are going up to a lake house this weekend. We've been engaged for one year already! I really can't believe it. Some sad news for me....My parents just sold their house. They have until May 1st. It's gonna be a bitch packing everything up. They bought some land right up the street from my sister. I'm sad they sold it b/c I grew up in that house. Oh well I guess it was going to happen some time or another, I just didn't expect it so soon! My mom is probably going to live with us during the week so she won't have to drive as far to work. And my dad gave us the boat! I'm excited about that b/c I love boats. It's nothing spectacular. It's an old fishing boat, but I still love it.

There's been a slight change of plans for the wedding. We are going to wait until next year to get married. Josh and I talked about it and it just works better for us financially if we wait till next year. This way, we can get the money from my dad and put it into a joint savings account, and then both of us will put money in like once a month, or every other week. That way we will have more money to get everything we want for the wedding/reception. We are going to get married on the island with family and close friends, then when we get back, we're going to have a big reception party for everyone! It also works better for everyone who wants to come to the wedding b/c it gives them more time to save as well. I'm going to keep the same date for the wedding. In other news, I may be getting a new job. The hotel across the street from my work has been calling trying to get me to go over there. I'm going to see if I can't get more money and keep my current schedule. If I can do that then I really can't turn it down. So wish me luck!

I finally decided where I am going to get married! We're going to Antigua! It looks perfect. The water is an unbelievable clear light blue, the beaches are perfectly white, there are 365 beaches on this one little island! , it's just perfect :) We are going to stay and get married at the Sandals resort. They have several different wedding locations you can choose from, but they have this one gazebo thing with these 2 statues on each side that is in the sandals commercial that I like and I think we'll do that one. Both of my sisters backed out on coming. My oldest sister just recently talked about coming, but since I didn't pick the location she wanted, she doesn't want to go anymore. Now she's planning her own vacation. That's all I'm going to say about her. My other sister can't come b/c she won't have the money. Now that she's a new stay at home mommy money is tight for them so I understand, but I still wish she could be there. :( My 2 friends from high school are coming. That really means a lot to me to have them come. Even though money is kinda tight for them, they know how important it is and said they wouldn't miss it for the world. I'm so glad to know that I have some truly good friends that I can always count on. Good friends are hard to come by.

Wow, it really has been a while since I've updated. Nothing much has happened. I'm still working on the wedding plans. I found the travel agent that we used for my sisters wedding so I'm excited about that. As soon as I pick the island destination I think everyone will be happy. It will be a big weight off my shoulders for sure. I really like the Sandals resorts and St. Lucia is my #1 pick, I just don't know if it is in the budget. Jamaica doesn't sound/look so bad either. I had heard that the locals were bad, but really where in the world can you go that doesn't have some weird locals? I heard not to leave your resort unless its a guided tour, but I really hadn't planned on venturing off by myself anyway. Plus in an all inclusive resort, theres really no need to. Josh told me I have to have it figured out by the end of this month which doesn't leave me much time :( And he's been absolutely no help. No input on the place, hasn't set a budget..... I can't do it all on my own! My three goals for the next few months are to lose weight, get whiter teeth, and improve my skin. Let's see what else.....I got a new tattoo on my shoulder. My mom was not happy about it at all. She knew I was going to get one, but she thought it was going to be where I could easily hide it, which I originally was going to put it on my hip area. She thinks it's going to ruin the wedding pictures. Josh will be in short sleeves so we'll kind of even out. He went with me to get mine and couldn't resist so he got a new one too.

Yesterday this guy came up to me at work and said he thinks that the turkish mafia is after him! He thought that a hitman was going to kill him and they were there at the hotel waiting for him. He asked me to call the police b/c he wanted them to escort him to his car or arrest him so the hitman wouldn't get him. He swore that they were waiting for him outside. He wouldn't go back to his room b/c he said they would just break his window or shoot right through it. He was all freaked out and really freaking me out! So I called to police and 4 cop cars showed up! It was crazy. They said they tryed to talk him into going to the hospital to get some help, but he refused. I just wanted to share my crazy story for the day. That kind of stuff never happens to me.

I've had a rather eventful weekend. My uncle died Wednesday. He was on his motorcyle and we originally thought he lost control and wrecked, but actually, he had a heart attack which caused the wreck. The funeral was Saturday. It was very sad, but then again what funeral isn't? Olivia's baptism was today. She is so darn cute. I really like my sisters church. It was very small. Maybe thats part of the reason I like it. I usually don't like other people's churchs. I don't know why. Maybe b/c some people are so pushy about that stuff and think that their church is the best and everyone elses church or religion pales in comparison. That annoys me. Vegas is getting so big. She's adorable, and a fiesty one. Here's a cute picture I just took of her. You have no idea how hard it was to get her to sit still long enough for one little picture!

Next weekend we get our puppy!! I'm so excited! She is the cutest thing. She has one blue eye now! Which is really rare for her breed. When I was holding her, she slid her way over to my arm and I was holding her like a baby, it was too cute. Anyway, so this weekend is Halloween (my fav. holiday) and I have no plans :( I haven't even been to a haunted house this year. We carved our pumpkins the other weekend and they are already rotting and the teeth are all sunken in now so they look like old men. It's funny. I laugh every time I see them. There is a drive in movie theater near my sisters house so we are hoping that Saw 2 will come out there this weekend and we are going to see that. It looks freaky. The first one was, so I'm sure that one will be good too. I rented the Amityville Horror with Ryan Rynolds in it b/c he is so hot, and the Ring 2. They were both good, but I think the Amityville Horror scared me more. The part that scares me the most from the Ring movies is that little girl climbing out of the well b/c she looks so damn freaky. The way she moves really freaks me out. I dyed my hair a really dark brown last weekend for the hell of it. It turned out really dark, almost black, but I like it. The holidays are right around the corner and I dread going Christmas shopping.....

My sister had her baby on the 14th. She's cute. Her name is Olivia and she was 7lbs and 7 oz and 20 1/2 in. long. My birthday was Wednesday. I didn't really do anything for my birthday. The only thing I did was when I got home from work, Josh took me out to eat and then I got to pick out the MP3 player I wanted. That was exciting. We ate at the Macarroni Grill. It was pretty good and they gave me a big birthday brownie. I was a little upset with the people at work though. Last month was this girls birthday and she's pretty new there. Well I went and got her a card and we got her a cake and my manager got her a present. After her birthday my manager had all of us write down our birthdays so she knew when mine was. So when I get there I didn't get a thing. Not even a card. I mean it' not that I really wanted anything, it's just the principle of it. I've been there a lot longer than her and I didn't get anything. Oh well, whatever. I was supposed to go to Compound Saturday, but everyone backed out on me. But my friends took me out to lunch today to make up. It was good. We are getting a puppy in a few weeks!! An Olde English Bulldog from his dad who breeds them. They were born 2 days before my birthday. We wanted a male, but they only had 1 male from that litter and they are keeping it so we are getting a female. She's the runt of the litter! She's black brindle with a white head and 1 black ear. I named her Vegas. Here is a pic of the litter. I'm sure you can pick out which one is ours!

I am such a mess. I don't know what to do about anything right now and I'm completely stressed. I don't know what to do about school. I don't think there is anything left in my industry (hotel, restaurant, tourism management) that I want/can do any more. I decided to go into that industry when I was still single and now that I'm engaged, my options are limited. I can't work on a cruise ship or do anything with airlines b/c that would leave me away from home for long periods of time. I don't want to be a manager at a hotel b/c working at a hotel I see first hand what they go through. I thought I wanted to be a travel agent until I realized that the job was based on sales and that would stress me out. I'm not much of a sales person as it is and with gas prices going up and everything with the economy, traveling may not be something a lot of people are going to be doing which would mean no money for me. And the restaurant stuff is just out of the question. I really don't know what else I could do career wise b/c I really don't feel that I'm good at anything and right now I really don't have a passion for anything. I feel like there is really no point in going to school b/c I don't know what I want to do and by continuing to go right now is just a waste of time and money. I feel like even if I did continue to go I wouldn't do anything with the education. I know everyone would be pissed at me for that. Then there's my job right now. We just got a new manager so that really sucks. Even though my hotel is a marriott property, it's not managed by marriott so my pay and benefits aren't as great as they should be. I was thinking of getting a second job. I just kinda threw the idea up and my old manager told me about his wife and mom are starting their own business called stretch n' grow where they do this fitness thing with little kids at day cares. I had an interview and it went well, but I would have to take a CPR and first aid class for like $50 which I don't have. Besides that I'm really not much of a kid person and I really don't want a second job, but at this point I feel like I have to take it.....but I really don't want to. And of course there's the wedding. I have no clue what to do. I'm so bad about planning all this stuff myself and it feels like no one wants to help me. I don't think people realize how clueless I am about all of it. Josh said that we could just wait another year....I know there's no rush, but I want to do it for when I had planned. I just wish someone would help me figure all this stuff out b/c I've been trying and can't do it myself :(

I just got back from the Keys Wednesday.....what a disappointment. I was hoping to go down there and love everything and just finalize my plans, but instead I ended up getting more stressed out and now I have to think of something else to do for the wedding. It was just not as pretty as I had expected. After all the talk I've heard about it and that movie FLipper was filmed down there I thought it would be beautiful. From Key Largo down to about Marathon, it's all bay. When I think of islands thats the last thing I think about. We went down to Key West one day, and it had prettier water (still not as pretty as I imagined) but there were still no beaches. Key West is pretty cool though with a lot of little shops and stuff. Much more lively than key Largo. I looked a a couple of boats and they were ok. I'm just disappointed. I'm real close to just doing a wedding with just Josh and I and not even worrying about everyone else. We need to go to a travel agent and I guess I need to get a wedding planner. The sunsets were beautiful though. The trip home was bad too. Our flight wasn't until 3, but our rental car had to be back at 11 so we had to sit in the airport for hours. A huge roach crawled on my foot, once we got on the plane there was a delay and we had to sit for another hour, and I got a terrible ear ache on the plane. I was crying. My conclusion on the keys, don't waste your money going down there unless you're going on a fishing trip. I could go to Lake Lanier for the same effect (minus the palm trees)

Looks like I'll be getting a new manager next week. None of us at work are looking forward to that. I'm worried that since she is a new manager, recently promoted from the front desk supervisor, she's gonna be on a big power trip. Thats what a lot of people do when they first get promoted like that. Plus she's a female so she'll probably try harder to get the respect of everyone. But I will try to stay positive about the whole thing and see how things go. I'm sad my manager now is leaving though. He was actually a cool manager and fun to work with. Thats pretty rare. Moving on, Josh just started his new job at Caterpiller working on big trucks. He seems to like it a lot so thats good. Maybe now he won't be so stressed all the time....although now it's about $$ b/c he had to get a pay cut for this job. He says he's "broke" but I think it's just b/c he's not used to living on a budget and not having excess money. On to the wedding plans I'm really leaning toward the boat in the Keys. It goes out right before sunset and they decorate the boat and provide unlimited champagne for everyone. Plus, from what I understand, I can bring whatever I want of my own on the boat as well, or they can provide it for me for an addition cost. I'd rather just bring my own stuff. I can get a small wedding cake down there and whatever else I need. I think it would be great to be able to have the wedding and the reception at the same place....and what better place than a boat! I want to get a photographer to take pics of us both on land with the palm trees and shore line and of course on the boat. My mom and I are going to try to go down there in the next few weeks to see if I really like it. and to check out the boat and hotels and other wedding spots so I"ll know for sure before I make any definite plans.
